It’s been a fantastic year for the whole Totalpost team so far. Since winning the Queen’s Award we’ve been extremely busy.
We took an afternoon out to receive our Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. The event took place at our head office in Alston, Cumbria where we invited staff and external guests to come and celebrate with us.
Claire Hensman, Lord Lieutenant for Cumbria came and presented the award on behalf of the Queen.

Speaking about the achievement of the award Claire Hensman said: “You’ve all done an amazing job and this doesn’t happen over night. For Alston and Cumbria this is extremely good news, it’s lovely that we have some manufacturing here. You’re creating new jobs, you’re training the next generation, and it’s all very exciting so please keep it up.”
In a passionate speech David Hymers, Managing Director at Totalpost recognised the hard
work and commitment of his staff saying: “You are a brilliant, brilliant team and I am so proud of you all. It’s been a rollercoaster since the award was announced in April in which we’ve opened offices in France and South Africa amongst others. Thanks to you all for keeping up with the pace and working so hard, it’s been phenomenal.”
David can also be heard talking about the award on BBC Radio Cumbria via this link – click here.
Bruce Lenton, who is Totalpost’s Production and Compliance Manager proudly received the award on behalf of the Totalpost team.
We were granted The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in recognition of our impressive growth in manufacturing and exporting over the last 3 years. Since receiving the award we have experienced a 20% upsurge in business. Additionally we’ve increased our staff numbers by 25%.
Yesterday was a chance to celebrate the achievement and the team worked hard to prepare the factory
for the event. We had a Queen’s Award themed flag and bunting and even a cake. Champagne was consumed and everyone had a fantastic time.
This follows other recent involvement with the Queen’s Award team where we exhibited at a BIS event in the centre of Sheffield and took part in a video interview as part of the promotion for the 2014 Queen’s Awards.
