At Totalpost we take Health and Safety very seriously. All of our staff undergo health and safety training and those that work in a factory, maintenance or installation setting undergo regular in-depth training.
It’s always good to hear from an external source that we are achieving high levels of success. With this in mind we were very pleased to be awarded accreditation from the SAFEcontractor scheme this week.
This is the second year running that we have achieved the high levels of health and safety required to get onto the scheme. It recognises our commitment to achieving health and safety excellence.
As a leader in mailroom and security screening products and services, Totalpost employs a high percentage of manufacturing staff and engineers. Therefore, while Health and Safety is of importance to all businesses it is a particular area which Totalpost looks to achieve excellence within.
In order to gain this accreditation we had to show that we had reached a high standard required of health and safety procedure and awareness and that it is embedded within everything we do.
Talking about the accreditation, Bruce Lenton, Production and Compliance Manager says: “As a responsible manufacturer, equipment installer and maintenance services provider we take the health and safety of our staff and those around us very seriously.
“SAFEcontractor is a great benchmark for us which gives us the confidence that we are achieving the high levels of health and safety which we constantly aim for.”
Under the SAFEcontractor scheme, businesses must take part in a vetting process which examines health and safety procedures. Additionally the company’s history of safe practice is scrutinised. Companies which are successful in meeting the standards are included on a database which is accessible to registered users via a website.
Organisations must sign up to the scheme to view the database. This allows users to find contractors with the confidence that they have achieved a high level of health and safety.
The scheme is held in high regard by many large organisations including leading facilities management companies. Currently there are 170 major businesses signed up to the scheme.
